The research activities
(explorations, experiments, comparative study pilot project
analyses) of SVARAM focus on 3 areas:
1. Original
sound material and world instruments
The ancient Indian classification of instruments according to their
form and
function (Susira, ghana, thatha, avanaddha - hollow, stringed and
covered) eir
format .(hollow,solid ,stringed and covered)
sets us out on a search for the archetypes and elements of
universally found instruments and a global
music culture.
2. Music pedagogy for an lntegral Education
On a request and through the initiative of a national scheme and
with the support of international sponsorship we started in 2003 a
research project on 'Instrument for a New Music Pedagogy "(click
for the research article) from RITAM research
magazine.
3. Sound and consciousness studies
The role of sound and music in education, personal growth, healing
and transformation and harmony of the society , recognized in all
the bright classical cultures is rediscovered in this tremendous
evolutionary crisis of our present times, and SVARAM is contributing
to this vast field through contemplative studies, articles, lectures, classes, workshops and seminars.
